Hurricane Irma Update

Hey guys! I figured it would be easier to make a blog post than posting on Facebook.

As most of you remember last year, some friends and I evacuated for Hurricane Matthew with our animals. To say the least, it was miserable. We weren't prepared. That leading to an 11 hour drive, that should've only been a 6 hour drive. Traffic was pretty bas. We also had to spend our first night at a sketchy hotel (I'm talking blood stains on the mattress, cat pee smell, bugs, etc.) It was bad. Thankfully we found something much better the next day. But, the trip was so bad. So this year when Irma developed so fast, (It went from a tropical depression to a category three in 30 hours) we decided to book a room with the option to cancel if needed. We're staying in Albany, GA.

I can't begin to say how hard it was to pack my bags with the intention of coming back to nothing. More than likely our home will be fine, or minimal damage. We had to prepare for the worst, and hope for the best. That meant bringing every sentimental item or necessity we have.

I'm just saying, my hurricane packing has improved since last time. Between the two of us, and three animals, we fit comfortably in the car.

Bonus: This year I had my husband. Last time his boat was extended during their deployment, because it's much safer for them to be gone than home

We just made it to our hotel, and all is well. The drive was short and easy. We took back roads the whole way, and made good time. Thankful that my husband could be here for this one. I will more than likely be posting updates. But until then, thank you guys for all the love and prayers! We appreciate it!

sincerely, stephanie
